Our story begins over 30 years ago when we got married, had three kids (Zach, Austin and Taylor) started farming with Matt’s parents on their family farm and then in 2000 we established Mattson Acres. The original farm consisted of a dairy and diversified crop enterprises and a small direct marketing beef enterprise.
In 2021, our family was rocked by the death of our daughter, Taylor, in a car accident at the age of 16. She had a passion for everything she did in life, be it school, church and helping with Sunday School, cheer and helping at Main Street Athletics, 4-H and showing cattle, and spending time with family and friends. Taylor loved life and had a deep faith.
Fast forward to today and things have changed. At the farm, we sold the dairy and started a beef cow/calf operation and continue to farm many acres. We have partnered with our son Zach and his wife Jenna to expand our direct marketing beef to Taylor’s Market. Taylor’s passion for life will live on as we strive everyday to produce products for our customers with the same joy and love that she exuded.
